For MEMORIAL DAY weekend can you do "MARCH TO THE WITCHES CASTLE " by Funkadelic. It was banned on the airwaves in 1974 by Congress as a ANTI VIETNAM WAR protest song. 30 years later The Dept. Of Defense bought the rights to the song added actual war footage to a video and it now plays here at the VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL in WASHINGTON D.C. 24/7. The song and the video are very graffic. It is a BERNIE WORREL/ EDDIE HAZEL cover of "Battle Hymn of the Republic/ When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" FUNK CLASSIC. "Standing On The Verge Of Getting It ON" also in 1974 was a Black Revolution Anthem. But also led the BLM march on Washington in 2019.

Well, you found another one. Faye, how the heck do you find these songs that are really (pardon the pun) instrumental, to my growing up years? I realize I only watch the ones I like, typically, but you really do pick good ones. So in my eyes, of the many reactors, your choices can capture the best of what most of us that grew up in the 60s and 70s and therefore, you have the best perspective of what we were growing up with musically. References in songs may get past you, but that's about it. And ya like the ones I like! haha Keep it up, Faye, you're terrific!

Dusty Springfield "Son Of A Preacher Man" features on the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction. It was a hit from her 1968 album Dusty in Memphis. The sound of the song -- the walking bass lines, the backing vocals, and the horn section -- are the signature of what was called "the Memphis sound" established by Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee. Her cover of "The Windmills of Your Mind" on side two is another stand out.

I was about 12 years old when this song came out …it was quickly ban because most thought it was about a woman’s menstrual. But it’s about a man and wife and abuse.

That’s the blues, lovely lady . By singing about and exaggerating their problems they deal with their problems. I suggested this to you yesterday, hopefully that means you are listening unlike many RUclipsrs. You can tell the difference in tone between the softer notes played by Albert, who plucks the strings with his fingers, and SRV who’s playing with a pick. If you are listening you’ll get a kick out of the song “Do the Funky Chicken” from Rufus Thomas 😊.

I’ve been a big Bryan Adams fan since his 1983 Cuts Like A Knife album. He is a singer/songwriter extraordinaire! One of my favorite songs of his is “Please Forgive Me”, but as his popularity was winding down, he put out the album On A Day Like Today in 1998 with the song, “Where Angels Fear To Tread”. This song IMO is his best and most beautiful ballad ever. If it would have come out a few years earlier, it would’ve have been his biggest hit EVER, IMO! Sit back and enjoy! This song is dedicated to my beautiful wife of 32 years who I have loved since I first laid eyes on her. She has given me everything that matters in life and I am forever in her debt! I can’t begin to imagine my life without her. Our 3 kids could not have had a better Mother than her. Life During War Time is a fantastic Talking Heads song. There is a wonderful live version from a famous concert directed by Jonathan Demme, who went on to direct some great films including The Silence of the Lambs. They have a lot of top tunes:)

Albert king is one of my favourite Blues Artists he has lovely guitar playing and great voice probably one of the funkiest blues players of all time!! The 3 Kings of Blues are B.B King, Albert King and Freddie King Also what is nice to see here is two guitarists talking to each through there instruments and not trying to compete with each other!!
